DC current (direct current) is not the same type of power as AC current (alternating current) from your wall socket. 


The power unit converts the AC from your wall socket into DC before sending it to the array module that you place into the water. The array module then converts the DC current into a magnetic field. This magnetic field interacts with the water to then produce the effect required.
