You can clean the orb by soaking in Calcium Lime Rust (CLR) remover, Glitz or with baking soda and vinegar. About 15 minutes in the cleaner every 5 - 10 uses should be plenty to keep it clean but make sure to rinse it thoroughly before using it.

Always good to give it a good rinse after every use as well.

The baking soda + vinegar cleaning solution is an alternative for those people who don't like chemicals. Basically, you use a container large enough to fit the complete orb in and add enough vinegar to cover the orb. Then add 1 level teaspoon of baking soda to the vinegar. It will effervesce and this action will clean the orb. You may have to add a second teaspoon of baking soda after it settles just to lift any remaining gunk from the orb. Leave it soak for about 10-15 minutes and then take it out and rinse it with water.

I believe you can reuse the vinegar a few times before it stops being effective.

With the CLR, have a container that you can put a lid on and mix 50%/50% CLR and water. Soak the orb every 5-10 uses for about 15 minutes.

If you are using it in a professional environment, you may want to have a sterile solution to dip it in after each customer.

You don't have to disassemble the module to clean it either. Just plonking it in the cleaner in tact is perfectly fine.
